1. Who is responsible

Rapid Technology (Mauritius) Ltd, Wall St, Ebène, Plaines Wilhems 72201, Mauritius, operates Rapid and is responsible for the personal information described here. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected] or use our Contact page.

2. Information we collect

  • Account and contact details: names, email, mobile number, login and account type.
  • Orders and fulfilment: items, prices, delivery or pickup choice, addresses, map pins, order status, messages and support history.
  • Business and courier details: store or restaurant information, staff access, applications, identity or eligibility evidence, vehicle details and payout destination where required.
  • Payment and risk records: transaction references, amounts, provider responses, refunds, chargebacks and records needed to investigate unusual activity. A payment provider handles payment credentials when its checkout is used.
  • Technical data: session identifiers, device and browser information, request logs and security events needed to run and protect the service.

Some information comes directly from you; some is generated as an order moves through the platform or is received from a merchant, courier or payment provider. Please avoid putting unnecessary sensitive information in free-text fields.

3. Why we use it

We use information to create and secure accounts; display stores and menus; process orders, payments, pickup and delivery; contact the people involved in an order; answer support requests; verify merchants and couriers; prevent misuse; reconcile financial records; and meet legal or record-keeping duties. Depending on the activity, the lawful basis may be performance of a contract, a legal obligation, a legitimate interest or consent where required.

Risk signals help identify activity for review. Restrictions or holds are applied through recorded decisions rather than solely from an unexplained signal.

4. Who may receive information

We share only information needed for the relevant task with the merchant fulfilling your order, the courier handling a delivery, authorised Rapid staff and service providers that support hosting, payments, routing, maps or communications. Providers may process data on our behalf or act under their own notices for their part of a transaction. Public product listings and business details are visible to shoppers; private identity evidence is not intended for public display.

Some providers may process information outside Mauritius. Where cross-border transfers occur, we assess and apply safeguards required by applicable law. We may also disclose information where the law requires it or to protect users and the service.

5. How long we keep information

We keep account information while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to resolve issues. Order, payment, refund and financial records may need to remain longer for accounting, disputes, fraud prevention and legal duties. Support and technical records are kept for as long as needed for those purposes, then deleted or de-identified where appropriate. A deletion request does not erase records that we must lawfully retain or immutable transaction history needed to explain an order.

6. Security and your choices

We use access controls and technical measures intended to protect personal information. No service can promise absolute security. Keep your password private and tell us if you think an account has been misused. You can update some account and address details in your account settings.

You may ask to access, correct or, where applicable, erase or restrict your information, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing depends on consent. We may need to verify your identity and may be unable to fulfil a request where a lawful exception applies. Send requests to [email protected]. You may also complain to the Mauritius Data Protection Office.

7. Cookies and updates

We use cookies and similar browser storage needed for sign-in, security and preferences. Our Cookie Notice explains more. We may update this policy when the service or providers change; the date at the top shows the latest version.

This policy is intended to explain Rapid's practices under Mauritius' Data Protection Act 2017. Contact us if any part is unclear.
